An EPP (Extensible Provisioning Protocol) code, also known as an Auth code or Transfer Key, is a unique password that authorizes the transfer of your domain to a new registrar. This code protects against unauthorized transfers and must be obtained from your current registrar.
When you transfer a domain, you keep all your remaining registration time. Additionally, most transfers add one year to your current expiration date. For example, if your domain expires in 6 months, after transfer it will expire in 1 year and 6 months.
Yes, you can cancel a transfer while it's in progress by not responding to confirmation emails or by contacting your current registrar to reject the transfer. Once completed, transfers cannot be reversed.
